Dr Ritu Rana
MBBS, MRCOG, FRANZCOG
Obstetrician, Gynecologist & Fertility Specialist
Dr Ritu Rana is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and a Member of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG, London, UK). She has more than fifteen years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with a special interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery, infertility and high-risk obstetrics along with management of labour.
Dr Rana completed her seven years obstetrics and gynaecology training from Yorkshire (UK). As part of this training, she worked in tertiary hospitals in the NHS UK in Leeds & Bradford where she gained enormous experience in handling very high-risk Obstetrics both antenatal and in labour.
With an interest in minimal access surgery, Dr Rana undertook advanced training in gynaecology (includes laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery) to be able to provide less invasive methods of treatment for her patients. She has also worked and trained in the referral centre for diagnosis and management of endometriosis and received immense experience in the diagnosis and management of gynae malignancy.
In 2011/12 Dr Rana completed a fellowship in reproductive medicine at the Leeds Centre of Reproductive Medicine, UK where the clinic performed more than 2000 IVF cycles during that period (then the highest in the UK). This extensive training provided invaluable experience in the management of couples with infertility including assisted reproductive techniques that includes IUI, IVF and ICSI.
She was awarded the certificate for Early Pregnancy and Advanced Gynaecology Ultrasound Scan by the British Fertility Society in recognition of her outstanding commitment to obstetrics and gynaecology.
Dr Rana has a very kind and empathetic manner towards her patients and receives excellent feedback from her patients and their GPs. The decision to create, run and manage Ritu Rana Medical was the logical next step in her professional journey and she leads by example providing a high-level of patient care.
Dr William Boyd
MBCHB, FRCOG, FRANZCOG, GAICD
Gynaecologist
Dr Boyd is a Mackay-based Gynaecologist with more than 3 decades of experience. His special areas of interest include female urinary incontinence and microsurgical reversal of both female and male sterilisations.
Born in Scotland and with a medical degree from Dundee University, Dr Boyd came to Australia in 1982, before working in general practice in Weipa.
He completed obstetric training in Adelaide and moved to Mackay in 1986, initially to work at Mackay Base Hospital.
Ritu Rana Midwifery Team
The dedicated midwives at Ritu Rana Medical offer a midwifery service that provides antenatal and postnatal support.
During your pregnancy you can expect some of your antenatal visits will be with our midwives. The incorporation of a highly skilled midwife into the practice will reduce delays, and more importantly allows us to increase education, screening and specialised care.
Each one of our midwives has been personally selected by Dr Rana to ensure the consistency of professional, expert and compassionate care for all patients.

Lauren Neill
Physiotherapist
Lauren is the proud founder of WHPM, who had the vision to create a clinic exclusively for women, and continues to have a huge passion to educate and empower women.
With over 10 years of experience working in both the public and private sector she has spent most of her career working in close consultation with Obstetricians, Gynaecologists, Midwives and specialist doctors. Lauren is a big believer in keeping women active, and strives to be an advocate for all her patients.
Lauren completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation in 2016 and then went on to complete her Masters in Women’s Health and Continence in 2020. She additionally has her Professional Certificate in Management of Pelvic Organ Prolapse including pessary fittings, and has complete Pilates training including pre and postnatal. After falling in love with breastfeeding, she completed her Lactation Consultant course to become an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
When Lauren isn’t in the clinic you can usually find her hanging out with her two cheeky children, at the gym or beach side with a coffee in hand.
